The change for leaving comments open is not in the CSS but in one of the PHP files. Give me a couple of days and I should have it. Regarding the comment issue, I haven't been able to replicate the error. Is this a newly installed blog? Sometimes when you first install and move the blog to a new directory or change some of the parameters, you need to reset the browser and clear the cache so Wordpress doesn't look in the wrong place for something. From what you described, that sounds like what might be going on, but let me know a little more detail and maybe I can replicate it and then fix it. I had some issues upgrading to 2.7, but it was only because I forgot to deactivate my plugins first. Everything works fine in 2.7 with the blogsimplified themes.
