To promote your blog or website, you need to get the word out and get other sites to start linking to you. There are three basic methods: Press Releases, Articles, and Social Media.
Not all sites are equal, however. In order to separate the contenders from the pretenders, we went through all the top content sharing sites in the three categories and ranked them by actual traffic.
We also looked at the 100 top newspapers, ranking both their online and offline traffic. Then we looked at the top 100 blogs by authority on Technorati, and also looked at their traffic.
